Our Scottish Islands webinar is available to watch now

Following stakeholder events held on seven Scottish islands, Zero Waste Scotland hosted a webinar to give island businesses and stakeholders a further chance to learn more about Scotland’s Deposit Return Scheme, to ask questions and to put forward ideas on how the scheme can be a success on Scotland’s islands. If you missed it, you can watch it now on our Deposit Return website. Questions and comments from the event will also feed into the Scottish Government’s Islands Impact Assessment.

Environment committee takes evidence on deposit return

During November the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Committee heard from a range of stakeholders during the evidence session discussions on Scotland’s Deposit Return Scheme. The Environment Secretary also gave evidence to the committee. These are available to view on the Parliamentary TV section of the Scottish Parliament website.


Comment period on regulations ends 10 December

The stakeholder consultation on the regulations for Scotland’s Deposit Return Scheme will soon draw to a close but there is still time to contribute. The comment period for the draft regulations closes on 10 December 2019. You can find the full regulations, and the response form, on the Scottish Government website.
